The roots of GVcepe’s inception lie in 1999, when the course “Enterprise Finance and Private Equity” was introduced into FGV’s Business Administration undergraduate program.

In July 2003, the center was properly inaugurated. Less than five years later, it had already established itself as the main educational and research institution on Private Equity and Venture Capital in Brazil. The quality and reliability of GVcepe’s work granted its participation in various international events. Furthermore, it has consolidated GVcepe as a primary source of data for PE&VC studies around the world.
