What is GVcepe?

 

GVcepe is Brazil’s foremost research institution focused on Private Equity and Venture Capital. Founded in 2003, it is based at Fundação Getúlio Vargas – EAESP.

 

Our center is the most reliable source of data regarding the PE&VC industry in Brazil, providing the necessary tools for the development of accurate analysis, as well as a deeper understanding of the sector as a whole.

Who works for GVcepe?

 

Professor Cláudio Vilar Furtado is GVcepe’s Executive Director and Chairman of the center’s Executive Committee. He offers guidance and strategic value to GVcepe’s operations. Adalberto Brandão is the Chief  Operating Officer, and is the one responsible for coordinating the every-day activities conducted by GVcepe, including researches and projects.

Where can I find out more about GVcepe’s publications?

When is the next Census going to be released?

 

The Census of the Brazilian PE&VC Industry is the result of a complex, effortful research project. Because of that, this report can only be released with a periodicity of 5 years – the last one was published in 2010, and so the next will be out in 2015. However, for the most relevant information on PE&VC demanded by the market , we recommend you to take a look into our report “Overview of the Brazilian PE&VC Industry”, which is released yearly.

 

 

I am a journalist. How can I obtain more information on PE&VC and/or related subjects? Can I conduct an interview with one of GVcepe’s members?

Does GVcepe offer courses and/or training?

 

We do offer an online course named Introduction to Private Equity and Venture Capital for Entrepreneurs. Our Education unit is also responsible for undergraduate and graduate-level courses offered at FGV-EAESP. I have a company/idea. Can GVcepe help me?

 

GVcepe’s  Entrepreneurship Hub aims at offering strategic resources such as knowledge, mentorship,  training, experience exchange and network to assist and encourage  entrepreneurs in every development stage of their business, whether it is a business idea or concept, a seed stage startup, a ramp-up stage business or a growth stage one. Do you offer mentorship programs to help me develop my startup?

 

Yes, we do! GVcepe’s operations count with the assistance of many Mentors, Judges and Collaborators. They are of greatest importance to several of our initiatives, including Desafio Brasil. Do you have a glossary of terms?

 

Not yet, but we are working on it! We are continuously improving the website, and soon we will include a glossary of terms regarding PE&VC and related topics.

 

Does GVcepe have a mailing list? Do you offer a news feed for subscribers?

 

We will soon offer our website’s visitors the possibility to subscribe to our mailing list. We will also be offering RSS feeds to anyone interested in receiving relevant news regarding PE&VC, GVcepe, Desafio Brasil and more.

 

 

How can I get informed on work opportunities at GVcepe?

 

We welcome academics, students from FGV and other universities and external firms to inquire about the possibilities of working at or with GVcepe. Throughout the year we offer a number of work opportunities in our different strategic units. Please contact us to obtain further information.

 

 

Does working at GVcepe helps me network with PE&VC industry’s professionals?

 

Of course! Besides the learning experience you get from working at GVcepe, the center allows you to establish great contacts with industry leaders. The center’s alumni have taken positions at leading firms in the industry.
