This class develops the concepts of Venture Capital and Private Equity inside the context of Financial Economics, Corporate Finance and Business Strategy. It also aims at improving applied knowledge in regard to institutions and their practices in PE&VC, both nationally and internationally. The class also examines the entrepreneurs‚Äô role, the nature of contracts between entrepreneurs and general partners and also between GPs and institutional investors. Other topics covered are the processes of obtaining returns on investments made.
This class introduces main topics, practices and regulatory issues on Corporate Governance, while also offering ample space for discussion and for analysis of related strategic and managerial issues. The class utilizes case studies, comparative analysis of Corporate Governance models in different countries and empirical and theoretical evidence linking Corporate Governance and business performance.
