Cláudio Vilar Furtado was responsible for the founding of GVcepe – Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Center, and is currently the Center’s Executive Director and Chairman of the Executive Committee. Furtado is a member of the Board of Directors at NORSA – Refrigerantes do Nordeste S.A., a Coca Cola Co. subsidiary, and of Atento Holding, a Spanish Telefonica Group subsidiary. He is a founding partner and director of CVF Finanças e Investimentos Ltda., a model economic and financial consultancy specialized in corporate governance, regulatory issues and investments services. Through CVF, he acted as a consultant and Board member for major companies such as Grupo Perdigão and Grupo Gerdau. He was executive vice-president of ABC-Bull, financial diretor of ABC – Electronic Systems and business development director at ELEBRA S.A. He has been a professor at EAESP – Fundação Getúlio Vargas since 1974, both in undergraduate and graduate courses. In 1999, he had a decisive role to the introduction of the course “Enterprise Finance and Private Equity” into FGV’s Business Administration’s undergraduate program, a pioneering effort in Brazil. In 2003, he played a pivotal role in the founding of GVcepe, showing further perceptiveness and alignment to market tendencies. He is a member of the Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Seed Capital Committee at the Brazilian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (ABVCAP). Furtado also participated in the Finance and Audit Committee at Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa (IBGC). At the Instituto Brasileiro de Relações Internacionais (IBRI), he was a member of the Board of Auditors. He was also a member of the Economic Conjuncture Committee at Associação Comercial de São Paulo (ACSP), and of the Board of Directors at Association Internationale Des Etudiants En Sciences Economiques Et Commerce (AIESEC) in Brazil. Claudio Furtado holds a Doctorate in Finance from the University of Chicago, USA, and another Doctorate, in Business Administration, from FGV-EAESP. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from FGV and a Master’s Degree in Business Economics. His professional expertises include Business Economics, Corporate Finance, Investments, Private Equity and Venture Capital. Eduardo de Rezende Francisco is the Analytics & Business Intelligence Coordinator of GVcepe – Private Equity and Venture Capital Research Center at FGV-EAESP. He is an author and professor in fields such as Spatial Statistics, Statistics, Business Intelligence, Geoinformation, Exploratory Data Analysis and Geomarketing in EAESP at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), both in undergraduate and graduate courses. He has 15 years experience in BI, Statistics and Geotechnology. Eduardo Francisco holds a PhD (2010) and Master’s Degree (2006) in Business Administration from FGV-EAESP and a BS (1999) in Computer Science from Instituto de Matemática e Estatística at the University of São Paulo. In 2007, he acted as visiting researcher of Information Science Department and SIRC – Spatial Information Research Centre at University of Otago, New Zealand. He is currently a columnist for the Journal InfoGEO (column GEOInsights) and MundoGEO geoinformation webportal, expert in Business Intelligence and Marketing Strategies in the AES Eletropaulo, the electric energy distribution company of São Paulo Metropolitan Area, and consultant in geomarketing and predictive models for microcredit. He worked for many years in the Brazilian Distributor of ESRI (Enviromental System Research Institute), the world’s most important software development and services company providing Geographic Information System (GIS) software and geodatabase management applications. He is a member of consultant board of the Brazilian Geotechnology conferences committee: GEOBrasil, GEOLatinAmerica and MundoGEO#Connect. He was the president of GITA Brasil, the Brazilian Geospatial Information and Technology Association. His research and consultant interest areas are Business Intelligence, Microcredit, Analytical Marketing, Fraud detection, Applied Statistics, Geostatistics, Demography, Data Mining and Geotechnology as general. His professional expertises include Geomarketing, Credit and Retail spatial models, Microcredit, Customer Satisfaction and Electric Energy.
